PS 24 2

Psalm 24:2 For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.

Once again we are drawn back to the foundations of the world, Genesis for one, John 1 for another.

Genesis 1:2b And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

John 1::3a  All things were made by him; (the Word, Jesus Christ)

Here we have unity in will and purpose, agreement in making the commitment to create it. So what is it? I ask because of the second part of Psalm 24:2 where there is an establishment of it after the creation in the flood? Now we go seeking what it is and why the flood was mentioned.

Genesis 9:17 And God said unto Noah, This is the token of the covenant, which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth.

We are at a critical point of our study here where we can become vain creatures if we do not seek God’s truth in these matters. Founded and established with Psalm 24:2 indicates purpose of intention and on this matter we must rely on the Word of God to understand and not go astray.

Genesis 6:5-6 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

Mankind, left to their own invention, did evil. Man did not turn return to God.

Romans 8:20-21 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

God’s heart was that mankind would return to Him and become children freed from the bondage of sin. Knowing that man would not come to Him on their own, God established a covenant with man, thru Noah. Man could not to be left to his own devices.
