John 6:35 Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.
Matthew 26:26 Institution of the Lord’s Supper
Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.”
Genesis 9:4 But you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood.
Matthew 26:28 for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.
John 6:60 The Words of Eternal Life
When many of his disciples heard it, they said, “This is a hard saying; who can listen to it?”
Rather than admitting that they did not have a proper understanding of Torah the Jews of that day rejected the most important words for eternal life.
John 6:66 After this many of his disciples turned back and no longer walked with him.
But not the twelve. John 6:68 Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life,”
Some Old Testament words are spot on but a proper understanding had not been given until Jesus fulfilled the law.
Ezekiel 1:12 And each went straight forward. Wherever the spirit would go, they went, without turning as they went.
Jesus did not send the spirit until after His death, resurrection and ascendance.
- John 14:26
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. - John 15:26
“But when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness about me. - John 16:7
Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you.
If we do not believe His Word by faith, the Helper will not come.
When He does then Ezekiel 1:12.
