PS 24 7

Psalm 24:7 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.

Lift up your heads. Don’t get caught sleeping. You need to see He is coming.

Gates, we are now called gates? What does that mean? What has been said about gates is mostly a natural correlation about the weakest point of a fortress. It is easier to come in thru the gate than storm the walls. We build walls to protect ourselves yet we are still the weakest point.

The gate is also the focal point of two worlds. It is a point of demarcation, leaving one domain and entering another. Yet the gate does not move but opens or closes as it chooses what to allow in and what to keep out.

Then we are called the everlasting door. We don’t often think of ourselves as eternal beings but we are. Life will go on and where is determined by the King of Glory.

Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

Heads up, the King is coming and knocking at the door to your heart. It isn’t like you sent out an invitation and He is coming with card in hand. He is coming bearing gifts of His choosing and what those might be you will never discover if you leave the door shut.

Oh, by the way, when you let Him in He is going to take over your life. You should know that.

The one thing I did not address was “be ye lifted up”. This implies you understand your position in life and that His coming is going to elevate your life to a place worthy of His presence.
