PS 24 6

Psalm 24:6 This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah.

Any time you see Selah there is something significant that has been said and you need to meditate on it. Selah is a musical instruction meaning significant pause. The psalms are musical.

The root source of generations is genetics. Jacob is the son of Isaac, the son of Abraham. Are you of the seed of Abraham? No, I do not ask if you are Jewish.

Galatians 3:16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

If you have been born again, born of the spirit, you are the seed of Abraham by faith. That seed is planted in your heart and will grow and mature to be that son of God you are meant to become. This seeking of His face is impossible to achieve without Christ in you.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

This being true, that Selah moment becomes all important. A proper understanding of what it means to be of this generation is required. We are the seed of Abraham, we are not the seed of David. David was of the genetic line upon which the promise was made and fulfilled in Mary, the mother of Jesus. We are the seed of Abraham because of faith.

Romans 4:13, 16 For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,

Selah
