If you think God is asking him to build a big elaborate temple you missed the understanding.

God was saying “Make room in your heart for me.”

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.

Matthew 6:21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

1 John 4:19 We love because he first loved us.

Psalm 119:11 I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.
