But

Philippians 2:13 for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.

But!

There always seems to be a but.

1 Peter 1:16 since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.”

That is a declaration by God about how He feels about His children if we do not desire sin.

Hosea 6:6 For I desire steadfast love and not sacrifice, the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings.

Love is a choice and God would rather our love be steadfast towards Him, but love is only capable of being true if it is offered by a soul that has the right to choose.

That is the only “but” that matters. Choose to love.
