Upright

Isaiah 33:15-17 English Standard Version (ESV)

15 He who walks righteously and speaks uprightly, who despises the gain of oppressions,
who shakes his hands, lest they hold a bribe, who stops his ears from hearing of bloodshed and shuts his eyes from looking on evil,
16 he will dwell on the heights; his place of defense will be the fortresses of rocks; his bread will be given him; his water will be sure.

Have we ever found ourselves at a point in our reading of God’s Word that there is such clarity that we have no words to offer up? How could we offer any explanation that would make these passages any clearer? So I will add these words.

17 Your eyes will behold the king in his beauty; they will see a land that stretches afar.

Walking upright brings us to verse 17. Walk uprightly and we have no reason to hang our heads in shame. This allows us to see the King of Glory in all His beauty and exactly how far His outstretched arm does reach.

Meditate on His Word and allow the Holy Spirit to speak more elegantly than I ever could.
