Transition

Luke 13:29 And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God.

Definition of transition is the process or a period of changing from one state or condition to another.

What do you think about when you hear about transitional periods? Becoming a teen? Entering college? Entering the work force? Turning forty? Retiring? Maybe it is getting married,  a new job or moving to a new city, whichever situation you are thinking about, there is a good amount of adjustment required.

How about entering into God’s Kingdom? If you think about it, a King without subjects is nothing but a land owner, people make Kingdom’s. Entering into God’s Kingdom is accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and you do that while you are still alive.

So why do we not think about a transitional period from being in the world to being in God’s Kingdom? Perhaps it is because we still live in this world and are subject to its physical laws.

John 10:10b I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

This abundant life is here and now in Kingdom living yet we think and act like we are in the world. We claim the abundant life and try and fill it with dead things, like houses, cars, money, influence, and power. That is not transitional, that is just more of the same sin life we had before Christ.

Becoming a Kingdom dweller means transitioning from an old life to a new life where Jesus Christ is the King of your life.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.
