The Cut

Leviticus 1:6 And he shall flay the burnt offering, and cut it into his pieces.

Thus begins the process of preparing the sacrifice to the Lord. Beginning always at the head as instructed and cutting a straight way down to the hips, so that all the inward parts should be exposed and dealt with according to the instructions given.

Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

We are to be a living sacrifice, where the Word of God, cuts straight to expose our inward parts, to see them in truth, and then to deal with it in accordance with His instructions.

The workman that needs not be ashamed is the one who has allowed the Word to expose the inner man and then dealt with him according to instructions. Too often we take this as being a onetime sacrifice and we care not to come to the alter again.

1 Corinthians 15:31 I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.

As often as I come to follow these instructions, I find less and less to correct but come I do and not just for correction. I also come for direction.

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Isaiah 42:16 And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them.

He will do this for us if we come to His Word for both correction and direction.

  1. “They that are washed need not but to wash their feet.”
We are already cleansed by the blood of Christ, once for all; it’s the daily defilement that needs attending to daily.
    Thanks bro.
