Surely

Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

The primary concern here in resting assured that the Lord is with you and that you do hear by faith is to get the Word in you. How often do you read your bible? Not study as a student in some academic activity but read the Word as you would an owner’s manual, to discover how all things work together for your good. (Romans 8:28) Another important part of that Romans verse is “those who love Him”.

Ever thought about loving Jesus Christ and all that He has done for you and will do for you? It almost seems like an afterthought to people. “Of course I do.”; yet they never really thought about this all important aspect of relationship. We were created to be loved but to return that love.

1 John 4:19 We love him, because he first loved us.

John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

These commandments are general in nature to new believers. The things He asks of all of us in relationship, be kind to one another, forgive one another, live peaceably with one another. In order to understand all the common commands you have read His Word.

Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Take in the Word, let it dwell in your heart and you will begin to hear the Lord more clearly as you come into a deeper loving relationship with His Word.

John 1:1, 14 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
