Rally Point

Isaiah 29:3 And I will camp against thee round about, and will lay siege against thee with a mount, and I will raise forts against thee.

A rally point is defined as a point or principle where scattered groups or opposing groups can come together. In the original context a rally point was an assigned area to regroup after each element of a coordinated attack had completed their assignment. As with many useful actions there follows a subversion of use by the enemy.

Today I see multiple rally points drawing resources away from the main attack. Those who espouse the call are not even aware of what they are doing. They put forward egregious photographs and posters which are meant to stir the emotions and they do. While they believe they are calling attention to an agenda, they in truth are saying “Rally on me.” “My cause is just, join me.”

To be fair, it is much easier to pick a cause than it is to seek the Lord and do His will. Taking up a cause can make you feel good, but is that the battle the Lord would have you mount up against? The last few posts I have made deal with the peace of God, letting peace rule in your hearts. Are you being led by emotions or God? If emotions you might want to check your first instinct when I challenge your motivation. Are you feeling defensive? Do you take the matter to prayer? Emotional motivations create emotional responses to challenges. Obedience of faith responds to opposition with prayer, checking in with the author of your faith.

Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

I am not telling you to give up the fight. I am just asking you to rally on the author of your faith and check on His battle plan.
