Peaceably

2 Corinthians 13:11 Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.

Being of one mind is not having everyone agree with you. It is about agreeing with God. We know that Jesus is the truth, the life and the way. We know the spirit of truth is the Holy Spirit. We know that they abide with us by faith, so why do we insist that others agree with our fleshly minds?

Our minds are subject to decay. It is flesh. It is subject to trauma. We were all wounded in one way or another in our lives. Romans 12:18 encourages you to live in peace as much as it is in you. I do not believe Paul is saying as much as is in your mind but rather as much as Christ is in your heart.

Proverbs 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

These issue of that abundant life Christ promised us in John 10:10 come from the heart, not our minds. Our confidence cannot be what we know but rather who we know. Paul warns us in 1 Corinthians 13:2 that our understanding of all mysteries and having all knowledge is meaningless if we do not have love.

Joshua 23:14 And, behold, this day I am going the way of all the earth: and ye know in all your hearts and in all your souls, that not one thing hath failed of all the good things which the Lord your God spake concerning you; all are come to pass unto you, and not one thing hath failed thereof.

“I am going the way of all the earth” means my body is failing me. Our minds fail us. Why depend on a failing mind while Christ is right there in your heart!!!
