Little Things

Exodus 29:20 Then shalt thou kill the ram, and take of his blood, and put it upon the tip of the right ear of Aaron, and upon the tip of the right ear of his sons, and upon the thumb of their right hand, and upon the great toe of their right foot, and sprinkle the blood upon the altar round about.

As I was reading for yesterday’s devotional I noticed this nice little piece of scripture. In many ways it seems like a little thing and we read past verses like these as we look to the bigger significances like the atoning sacrifice. Yet here, in the midst of those significant signs we spoke of yesterday, is this sign.

Anointing is usually done with water or oil. Here the blood of the sacrifice is used to anoint body parts. The right ear, the right thumb and the right great toe. Right is the significant power hand. Ear to hear, thumb to grasp, big toe to walk and keep balance.

Can you see the significance of design here? God is telling us that thru the blood sacrifice we are anointed to hear, handle and walk with the power.

Ephesians 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

Not that we possess the power but that the power possess us. He does not use His power at our command but rather at the will of God. He, I say He for the power is God.

Romans 15:13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

2 Corinthians 1:21 Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God;
