Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

What experience has taught me is that I need Jesus every hour of every day. Alone I am beggarly, weak and sorrowful. Even when I am with Him if I should turn my eye even for a second to look upon what I want, I am filled with shame for just looking away. We are human and at the core of our humanity is neediness. I am a needy man.

2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

Having sufficiency in things is for the abounding good work. Christ is my sufficiency for that purpose but I am still a needy human. I want more of the only thing I truly need.

Luke 10:41-42 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

The more I try to be like Mary, the more I see the Martha in myself, careful but troubled.
