Sacred Heart

Hebrews 9:8 English Standard Version (ESV) By this the Holy Spirit indicates that the way into the holy places is not yet opened as long as the first section is still standing.

What makes room for Christ to enter, to abide in us?

John 12:25 English Standard Version (ESV) Whoever loves his life loses it, and whoever hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.

We cannot make room for Jesus if we love our lives more than we love Him.

John 6:56 English Standard Version (ESV) Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him.

It is important that we understand that truth and wisdom come from the sacred heart, the dwelling place of the Most High God.

1 Corinthians 6:19 King James Version (KJV) What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

We are not our own, we are His and all that we are and will be is because we surrendered our lives to Jesus. He is our Lord to do with as He pleases. Because He is loving, kind and gentle His approach to conforming us is a soft touch and slow progress. He accepts willingness on our part as an indication to proceed so that each step taken in obedience of faith will not have to be repeated.

What has happened to me to be conformed followed these steps. Any missteps on the way were all caused by my choosing a path to take rather than waiting on God’s direction. God is patient and kind. We are impatient because we have been taught to get results. Effort produces results.

Romans 8:5 English Standard Version (ESV) For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.

Step by Step

Psalm 51:6 English Standard Version (ESV) Behold, you delight in truth in the inward being, and you teach me wisdom in the secret heart.

I have chosen one verse from the Sinner’s Prayer Psalm in order to explain the step by step approach.

When I was baptized back in the 60’s those around me acted as if I was saved, treated me as if I was saved, and knew that God was in charge of my salvation. I had no clue as to what had happened or why. While they trusted in God no one told me that I needed to trust God. No one discipled me, no one showed me the Way. They left me to my own devices.

Since I just began this new approach towards teaching the gospel of Christ, I would like to illuminate what I deem to be the most important aspect of salvation.

Psalm 139:23-24 English Standard Version (ESV) Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!

God searches our hearts and determines what needs to change, when it needs to change and how it will be changed.

Our whole life we have been told to take charge of our lives, make goals, achieve goals, plan out our lives and live it to the fullest. That is a general rule and how that manifested itself in your life might be different from others. It might be parents, or teachers, or a drill sergeant. However we form our paths in life, we are asked to choose a path.

In Psalm 51:6 he speaks to the inner man and the secret heart. It helps me to grasp a meaning for myself by calling it the Sacred Heart.

Exodus 26:33 English Standard Version (ESV) And you shall hang the veil from the clasps, and bring the ark of the testimony in there within the veil. And the veil shall separate for you the Holy Place from the Most Holy.
