Moses Given Powerful Signs
Then Moses answered, “But behold, they will not believe me or listen to my voice, for they will say, ‘The Lord did not appear to you.’”
I know how Moses felt. I have been touched by God and some will say “Yes, you are touched, in the head.”
What God has done to me was for me. It was not meant for anyone else. It only happened to me. This is my predicament today. I don’t need you to believe me, I want you to believe Him.
John 11:25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live,”
The difference in these two bible quotes is that Moses was concerned that the people would not believe him and Jesus said “believe in me”.
Moses had a unique relationship with God without a doubt and he wrote the first five books of the bible. Some sects believe only those five books and refuse to believe the rest.
John 5:46 For if you believed Moses, you would believe me; for he wrote of me.
Why did they believe Moses and not believe in Jesus?
John 4:48 So Jesus said to him, “Unless you see signs and wonders you will not believe.”
Jesus came with signs and wonders during a difficult time when Israel was under Roman occupation and they were looking for a Messiah that would overcome their oppressors. He had to prove to them who He was before they would listen to Him.
John 6:26 Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, you are seeking me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate your fill of the loaves.”
Then there are those who care nothing about miracles and only want their needs satisfied.
I have neither signs nor will I satisfy anyone’s worldly needs. All I have are His Words.
John 6:63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.
If His Word is not enough, there is nothing I can say that will make a difference in your life.
