Obey Faith

Romans 1:4-6 English Standard Version

and was declared to be the Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness by his resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord, through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith for the sake of his name among all the nations, including you who are called to belong to Jesus Christ,

Romans 16:25-27 English Standard Version

Doxology

25 Now to him who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery that was kept secret for long ages 26 but has now been disclosed and through the prophetic writings has been made known to all nations, according to the command of the eternal God, to bring about the obedience of faith— 27 to the only wise God be glory forevermore through Jesus Christ! Amen.

Let us see obedience of faith through our spiritual eyes.

He brought about faith for His names sake. His name sake is Jesus Christ.

The gospel, revelation of mysteries, prophetic writings, and our spiritual knowledge is for God’s glory through Jesus Christ.

Keep this spiritual insight in the forefront of our minds so that pride does not overwhelm us in our pursuit of godliness.

2 Timothy 3:2-6 English Standard Version

For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. For among them are those who creep into households and capture the weak women, burdened with sins and led astray by various passions,

Galatians 3:28 English Standard Version (ESV) There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

True Light

John 8:12 English Standard Version

I Am the Light of the World

12 Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Think about the term “that’s enlightening” which brings us understanding, it is seeing things in a new light, and in our senses a truth about what we are seeing. Given that this is a spiritual element we should give this as a source of spiritual truth. Just as it is impossible for the human eye to look at the sun, it is impossible for the human eye to look at the Son. We see what He illuminates as a reflection off the spiritual issue, seeing these things in a reflective way.

The human eye is a series of physical creations. They eye is the receptor, the optic nerve is the transmission line, the optic centers combine the left and right eye to translate that signal to give depth and process those signals in a way that the brain can understand.

The spiritual eye is one spiritual gift that has no mechanical mechanism that is affected by health or misinterpretation. It sees truth spiritually without error. Since we are human, this sight system is unnatural and different in any way we once “saw things”. Spiritual sight is a new way for our new creation to receive truth.

2 Corinthians 5:7 English Standard Version (ESV) for we walk by faith, not by sight.

John 12:35b English Standard Version (ESV) The one who walks in the darkness does not know where he is going.

The essence of spiritual sight is to walk by faith and walking by faith is walking in God’s will to get to that point in life that God has created those divine appointments. We can only come to those appointments by obedience of faith.
