I AM Came

John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Yesterday God identified Himself to Moses as the great I AM. Then with this verse Jesus declares I AM come, and from our perspective I AM came down to us here on earth.

We do not often think of the sacrifice that God made in giving up His position on His eternal throne just to take on this human form.

2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

For this one reason I list love as the first personality trait of God.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

The motivation behind the act is love, agape love, pure love, unselfish love, who God is in personality and character; love.

God’s first act is creation. He created space and time in order to set into motion a world He loved and things that He loved, with the understanding that to receive love, you must first show love.

1 John 1:1-3 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

Life was manifested because of this great love.

Who R U

Exodus 3:13-14 And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them? And God said unto Moses, I Am That I Am: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I Am hath sent me unto you.

Let me clarify this one issue before we get started, I am not what I do. Neither is God.

All my life I have heard unbelievers chastise me for believing in a God who does evil. It often comes down to an act in which they judge God and by association judge me. This all stems from an improper understanding of who God is in personality and character. God told Moses I AM THAT I AM, and that is who God is, in character and personality, consistent, unwavering; the immutable God.

I have identified five character traits of God that are inherent within His personality that are consistent within everything God does in this Word. We as humans seem to be incapable of holding onto our character consistently and we favor one trait over another depending on the circumstance. Not so with God, He never gives way up one characteristic in favor of another in anything He does. Because of this unbelievers are prone to judge actions because that is all they can see.

Pharaoh would not release his slaves to God until Egypt endured ten plagues. It is not lost on me that God’s actions where the motivation behind Pharaoh’s surrender. Neither is it lost on me that Pharaoh sent his army to destroy the slaves that had been set free. The net result of that decision was the loss of his army also. Who does that remind you of in scripture?

John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
