But I Do

Ecclesiastes 11:5 As thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all.

But I do know the way of the spirit!

This statement was true enough when Solomon wrote them before Christ. Every encounter that man had with God in the form of the Holy Spirit was external and mysterious.

John 3:8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

We are that great mystery to everyone who is not born of the spirit. But we who are born of the spirit, walk in the spirit, we know the way of the spirit. The spirit is no longer a mystery to us.

Ephesians 3:3, 17a, 19b How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

It was not possible in Solomon’s time for God to dwell in man. So holy and pure is God that no mortal man could live in the presence of God. But Christ, by His obedience, His death and resurrection made it possible for God to dwell in man by faith. He changed that.

John 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

We become the great mystery to those who do not believe because like Solomon so many years ago, they cannot see the indwelling spirit and know His ways.

You must be born again of the spirit to know Him who is spirit.

OMG

Ezekiel 38:2-3 Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him, And say, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:

Read Ezekiel 38. OK, are you done now? It is only 23 verses, not a long read. Now I ask you this, if Gog read and believed God about this, would Gog heed the prophetic warning and not go to that land to take a spoil? If you were Gog and believed, you would not, because belief tempers action.

OMG, Oh My Gog, I am not Gog. I do not see myself in the prophecy. Ezekiel is prophesying to someone else not me. I would never be like that. There is no possible way that I would ever be like that.

I will believe you if and only if you can assure me this, you are the Son of man and that you have set your face against Gog. The reason I say this is because hidden within the opening verse are two key issues, Identity and Attitude.

Each and every one of us have the capacity for taking spoils. It is within our nature. The only thing that will stop us is identity and attitude.

Philippians 3:8-10 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
