Your Problem

Matthew 27:4 Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that.

Matthew 27:24 When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to it.

I was interested in innocence this morning and found that the word innocent only appears twice in the KJV New Testament. These are those two verses. Both ended with phrases that imply emphatically, “That’s your problem.” See thou and see ye implies personal responsibility is required of that and it, which is the innocent blood of Jesus Christ.

Strangely enough the most prophetic words spoken in this chapter is given in response to Pilate by the crowd in verse 25.

“Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children.”

Do you see it? “all the people” In the crowd was a mixture of believers and non-believers. They all answered and rightly so, that the innocent blood was on them and on their children, meaning all generations to follow. That’s on us, it is our problem. See to it. What are we going to do?

Will you stand in the blood, which is to be guilty of the blood?

Or will you be covered by the blood which hides all your sins from the eyes of the Father?

The choice is yours.

Inspired

Job 32:8 But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.

What do you find inspiring?

It is that time of year when The Master’s golf tournament is televised. As a long time golfer I have noticed that immediately after The Master’s there is a sudden increase in golf rounds played. It is spring, but here in Texas the weather has been good for some time. Unlike the northern states we can play year round. Even so, the sudden increase of rounds played has to be attributed to the inspiration that golfers witness at The Master’s. I know, I feel it myself.

Inspiration is meant to spur action. Seeing a picture of the Grand Canyon isn’t inspiring if you don’t go there to witness it for yourself. We often see or think of things which move our emotions, but if they do nothing to move our feet, they are not inspiring.

Romans 8:11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

This quickening of the body is a change in behavior, to put you in motion.

Isaiah 6:8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

The meaning of apostle is one sent. Many say that the days of the apostles are over.

That can only be true if God asks you to go and you say no.

Don’t you want to be inspired?
