Job 32:6 King James Version (KJV) And Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite answered and said, I am young, and ye are very old; wherefore I was afraid, and durst not shew you mine opinion.

This is but one of the four times the word opinion appears in the KJV. If God does not talk about a subject in great detail, one tends to assume it isn’t important.

“Whenever I am doing my bible studies, the Holy Spirit brings reminders to me in the King James Version because that is where I placed those bible verses into the storage locker of my memory for further use. When I receive a word from the Lord it is often found in the KJV but His meaning and intent is not located in that translation and I must search elsewhere.”

This is the opinion I ended with yesterday. It is my opinion that God has more to say than what I can convey by using the KJV. When it comes to stating His meaning and intent not located in the KJV that is not opinion. It is a relationship. I would not know His meaning or intent without this relationship.

God’s meaning and intentions will be found in relationships not bible versions. He can and will speak to each of us as He knows we are best suited to receive it. The better the relationship the easier it is to understand meaning and intent in any version.

I do not like certain versions and therefore I tend not to study in those versions. Occasionally I am led to use one of them to convey a message from them because it serves God’s will to do so. Whoever receives it does so because of God’s will and not my intentions. That is not my opinion, it is a statement of my relationship with God.

His opinion is the only right opinion.

Opinions

Matthew 22:16 English Standard Version (ESV) And they sent their disciples to him, along with the Herodians, saying, “Teacher, we know that you are true and teach the way of God truthfully, and you do not care about anyone’s opinion, for you are not swayed by appearances.[a]

Footnote [a] Greek for you do not look at people’s faces

Matthew 22:16 King James Version (KJV) And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men.

Matthew 22:16 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC) And they sent their disciples to Him along with the Herodians, saying, Teacher, we know that You are [a] sincere and what You profess to be and that You teach the way of God truthfully, regardless of consequences and being afraid of no man; for You are impartial and do not regard either the person or the position of anyone.

It is my opinion that the Amplified gives the best understanding of this verse. That is my opinion and only has as much sway on the opinions of others as they so choose.

I grew up with the KJV which in every verdict of opinion was an archaic use of the English language even at the time of its publication. It is my opinion that it was intentional. Once again, no one need agree with my opinion. It matters not.

I appreciate that the ESV and AMPC include footnotes. I also appreciate that the KJV does not. That is just my opinion. My conclusions are mine.

Whenever I am doing my bible studies, the Holy Spirit brings reminders to me in the King James Version because that is where I placed those bible verses into my storage locker for future use. When I receive a word from the Lord it is not always in the KJV. His meaning and intent is not located in that translation and I must search elsewhere.

That too is my opinion.
