Blind Men

John 9:40 And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also?

Ever heard the phrase none are so blind as those who refuse to see? Sadly I see some who are even worse than those. We have experience in these times those who are like the Pharisees of John 9:40. These are those who have heard the truth and come to an understanding that the truth is talking about themselves and in their arrogance choose to stay blind. These blind men are arrogant enough to say “We are in charge here, we make the laws and we will have our way.”

Psalms 14:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

These blind men say they are not fools. They are well educated, passed the bar and now make the laws. They have overcome ignorance only to surrender to the darkness of their own hearts. They read Plato rather than Job, Socrates rather than Isaiah and Voltaire rather than the Psalms. They are more likely to believe Nemo controls The Matrix than the God of Abraham controls the universe.

Sadly for those of us who know and follow Truth, we are more likely to live the life of Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: where the prince of eunuchs gave them new names. Just as the leadership of those days stopped worshipping God, history is repeating itself, and the innocent suffer because of it.

So what are we to do about it now? I can only say to follow the example of Daniel and no matter what happens, no matter where life takes us, stand for the truth and bow before no man.

  1. Very good. Many are asking, what do we do now. The apostles and disciples dedicated themselves to the spreading of the gospel…period. When asked they had answers, but their mission was to preach Christ, Him crucified and resurrected. They stood firm. Thanks Larry.

  2. What do we do now? I press toward the mark for the prize of the HIGH CALLING of God in Christ Jesus!!! Fred, I echo your remarks, and I want to show the loving heart of God, Who SO loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever will believe in HIM, will not perish, but have everlasting life. We have a motto at New Venture…..”Love like Jesus loves”. Thanks Larry and Fred and above all, Thank you Lord Jesus!!! I love YOU!!!

  3. Editorial clarification seems appropriate. I am not saying do not read Plato, Socrates or Voltaire, and am saying it is unwise to leave out reading the bible and coming to an understanding of God’s Word.
