Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

Psalm 18:28 For it is you who light my lamp; the Lord my God lightens my darkness.

Isaiah 61:1 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;

John 8:12 Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

While the “Good News” is the gospel message of salvation, the end result of accepting the free will offering of mercy and grace offered by God the Father through His Son, we have to walk in this world where there is much darkness.

The good news is that we get to take His Light with us to guide our steps.
