Lamentations 3:22 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end;

Romans 12:1 I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.

I find it comforting to focus on His love and mercies. A living sacrifice chooses to obey by faith rather than choosing to live by the flesh.

Nehemiah 9:28 But after they had rest they did evil again before you, and you abandoned them to the hand of their enemies, so that they had dominion over them. Yet when they turned and cried to you, you heard from heaven, and many times you delivered them according to your mercies.

We should remember the mistakes of the past and the consequences of sin lest we fall from grace and suffer needlessly.

The enemy is waiting to make us suffer.
