Isaiah 44:6 Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.

I’ve been asking myself ever since the first week of January 2017 what subject I would exhaust just as I have attempted with “Communicating with God”. It occurred to me that I jumped right into the Gospel of Jesus Christ without giving my readers an opportunity to understand “Why this God?”

Here in Isaiah it is plain this God of Israel declares there is no other God. The first of the Ten Commandments states in Exodus 20 that they are to have no other gods besides Him. That little g god is an object of worship. We can all understand the concept of do not worship cars, houses, money or position. When it comes to identifying the big G God, there are some in the world that would argue that there are other gods to be worshipped or that the God of Israel is a false God and God has a different name.

I never have and I never will explore those possibilities. I will not speak to any alternative religion. I will only testify of the God of Isaiah 44:6, the One God, the True God, the only God.

Why this God?

John 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

He has made Himself known to me in a deeply personal way that only God Himself could do. I know this Lord God King of Israel. He is my God, He is my Lord, He is my King. I will not bear witness to any other, nor will I waste my time or yours speaking of any other possibility.

Day 28

Numbers 28:13 And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the Lord thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:

This is day 28 of this new year’s devotionals. Are you hearing the Lord any clearer than when we first began? I hope so. I have no control over that, this is between you and the Lord in your relationship. What I have done is quote many scriptures in which the Spirit says “Yes and Amen”. In your heart of hearts did you “hear” that confirmation in God’s word?

Patience and repetition is required in learning a new language, especially this one that is spirit in form and participation. In the beginning, I asked why you wanted to hear God. Allow me at this time to give you a reason to continue to seek God. It is here in Numbers 28:13 where we receive a promise from God in what He will do for us if we listen and obey.

Many of us came to Christ because we lost control of our lives. God promises to give us back control if we will learn His way and follow His plan for us.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

I will not reveal that expected end. Revelation is the purview of the Lord. Discover that for yourselves in a deep personal relationship with the Lord.
