Why Lord

It is said in Hebrews 2 “Now in putting everything in subjection to him, he left nothing outside his control. At present, we do not yet see everything in subjection to him.”

Given that we believe this to be true “What is man, that you are mindful of him, or the son of man, that you care for him? You made him for a little while lower than the angels; you have crowned him with glory and honor, putting everything in subjection under his feet.” Why doesn’t He make everyone obey?

He reminds me in 1 Corinthians 13:5 that love does not insist on its own way.

Love has to be a free will choice or it isn’t love.

I had Hebrews 2 on my mind when I woke up. The use of the words “at present” says to me that things have not changed all that much in the last two thousand years except perhaps the numbers of remnants in each generation who have chosen to love Jesus and are with Him now.

I am reminded that I am but one of this generation’s remnant and while I feel outnumbered I am not alone. There was a time when I was alone in the world. There is no worse feeling than being alone. That is no longer true.

Hebrews 2:1-3 “Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it. For since the message declared by angels proved to be reliable, and every transgression or disobedience received a just retribution, how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation?”

Listen closely to His Word. He answers every just question with a just answer. He answers every foolish question with silence. The just retributions only come when we do not love as we are asked to love. Those that feel alone need to know there is a permanent and positive cure.

We have the cure, but they have the free will to receive or reject His love.

Luke 10:16 “The one who hears you hears me, and the one who rejects you rejects me, and the one who rejects me rejects him who sent me.”

Remember they are not rejecting us, but rather the One who sent us. Don’t take it personally.
