Burp

Matthew 12:34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

Have you ever burped and could smell what you have been eating or had a glint of the taste again?

A clear understanding of just how much good you soulful diet is doing you is when you burp. Voluntary noise with an aftertaste of spiritual diet. Is it a pleasant experience or is it a reminder that you haven’t been on the right diet?

Spiritual diets are much like weight loss diets. The results might not reflect a healthy change. The Holy Spirit is in charge of sending you a signal that your diet is healthy or not.

2 Timothy 4:3-4 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Just because you like what a preacher says, doesn’t make it gospel. Just because you are joined in fellowship with people that agree with you, doesn’t make you right. In every group there should be a voice of questioning. Even if they are wrong, they are there to learn and grow also. My advice during those moments is to allow the Holy Spirit to judge the smell of another’s burp.

All of us want to be right on important issues. Sound doctrine rises from building upon a sure foundation. Only a master builder can tell you if the stone you just laid is misplaced.

Psalm 119:27 Make me to understand the way of thy precepts: so shall I talk of thy wondrous works.

BURP!

Eat This

Hebrews 2:1-4 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward; How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him; God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?

We must attend to the feeding of our souls.

Romans 14:1-5 Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations. For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs. Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him. Who art thou that judgest another man’s servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand. One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.

We can only offer spiritual food, we cannot force them to eat it. He is weak because he has not eaten but the appetite for spiritual food is the purview of God, not man. Encourage them to eat, do not force feed them. It will turn bitter in their mouth.

Job 21:25 And another dieth in the bitterness of his soul, and never eateth with pleasure.

His Word should be like honey on your lips.

Song of Solomon 4:11 Thy lips, O my spouse, drop as the honeycomb: honey and milk are under thy tongue; and the smell of thy garments is like the smell of Lebanon.
