Isaiah 28:9-10 English Standard Version

“To whom will he teach knowledge, and to whom will he explain the message? Those who are weaned from the milk, those taken from the breast?
10 For it is precept upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little.”

Believe that God is a God of order and in that order, we will discover the answer to questions we did not even think to ask.

1Corinthians 13:4 begins with love is patient. How love acts begins with patience. We are reminded by Isaiah that there is a buildup of knowledge and that it does not come all at once. When we read and receive understanding there is a tendency to believe that is all there is to believe. That is like saying one plus one is two and I understand math. First precepts are built upon, precept upon precept.

It is in our best interest to revisit the scriptures for the best of reasons. Our minds are flesh and subject to decay. We do not always remember correctly in our own strength. A wise old doctor of theology has a favorite phrase he used in every sermon. “Repetition is the price of knowledge.”

Hebrews 5:12-14 English Standard Version

12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the basic principles of the oracles of God. You need milk, not solid food, 13 for everyone who lives on milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, since he is a child. 14 But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.

Consistent practice, repetition, to gain wisdom in the knowledge that we do not know everything, but we do know the One who does.
