GAP Will

Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Yesterday I ended the devotional His Will with this pointed question: Is that seeking God’s will or satisfying our own conscience? My point was in trying to determine God’s will and our attention to that will. How much we pay attention to His will varies within us as either good, acceptable or perfect. This is about the condition of conscience with respect to His will.

This transformation of mind is a conscious decision. Our ability to prove the will of God in respect to our conscience is a reflection of our heart condition. It is because God is One, has One will, has One objective, has One plan. It is foundational to Who God is and why He does everything. We on the other hand come to terms with the His will according to our understanding. God’s will for all of us is the same and is identified in the first commandment.

Matthew 22:37-38 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment.

God created us to be loved and to love (the second commandment). God is love. Return to the issues of proving God’s will in respect to conscience in Romans 12:2, all you have to do is substitute will with love to gain insight as to that proof.

Good love, acceptable love, perfect love are all subjective to our understanding of our performance of that love which is the basis of conscience.

How well you love determines how deep you are in God’s will, good, acceptable or perfect.
