Fifteen Eighty Eight

1 Chronicles 12:33 Of Zebulun, such as went forth to battle, expert in war, with all instruments of war, fifty thousand, which could keep rank: they were not of double heart.

1588 is my chess ranking on chess.com for today. My ranking changes daily. It does not change because my skills change. My ranking changes because I do not take the battles seriously. I couldn’t care less about the outcome. Winning isn’t everything to me. I enjoy the people.

When it comes to Kingdom warfare I do not break rank. I do not look for promotion nor do I shirk responsibility. I am a Kingdom warrior, expert in war and trained with all the instruments of war. I take this battle seriously.

People are not my enemy, Satan is the enemy.

Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Sounds noble doesn’t it? Doing battle with the enemy is a noble endeavor. Do you know how to do battle with these powers and principalities? Do your spiritual weapons reach the high places?

Ephesians 3:9-11 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:

You do not do it by breaking rank.

The two key words in the above verses is fellowship and church. Lone wolf attacks do not serve the eternal purpose in Christ Jesus our Lord.

To Wit

Acts 12:9 And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision.

Did you know that the term “to wit” is nearly the only current form of wist? How many of you want to yawn right now? Boring!!! OK, yes, a little bit boring, so why do I bring this to your attention?

Things, especially people who once meant something, still hold knowledge and relevant understanding.

So many believers today shy away from the archaic language of the King James Version because there are so many out there that render a clearer meaning of words like wist. I get it, but I also get that the easy road doesn’t cause you to pause.

We live that fast pace life. There is so much to take in, we move on without having savored every bit of the experience in the now moment. We treat people that way. “Man I wish this guy would get to the point so that I can go.” We make people irrelevant when we do that. It is disrespectful and more to the point lacks grace and love.

Often times our bible reading is treated that very same way. “I’ve only got fifteen minutes to spare. Let’s see how many passages I can read.” Even if it’s an hour, what does it gain you in your relationship with God if you cannot see yourself and relevant aspects of your life in the Word because you have the cruise control set at 80?

Luke 2:19 But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.

Proverbs 21:2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord pondereth the hearts.

Stop and smell the roses planted in faith.
