SD Continued

This is the continuation of yesterday’s blog. That should be read first.

At what point does the human mind request help from men to understand the Word? Logic says it is because they have not learned to hear with the spiritual ears that have been given when receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Being baptized by water is a John the Baptist experience.

Acts 18:25 King James Version (KIV) This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John.

Apollos only knew of the baptism of John, Pricilla and Aquila taught him what Paul had brought to them.

What makes any doctrine sound doctrine?

First it must be the revealed mind of God confirmed by God in the third person, the Holy Spirit. If a believer has not become familiar with the sound of the Holy Spirit using their own spiritual ears, they will lean on the opinions of others. This will cause believers to be man followers rather than Christ followers.

God wants to restore that Garden of Eden relationship which He had with Adam and Eve. God would come to them and seek them out. Since sin entered the world the roles have been reversed and man goes about seeking God. Are we hearing God or someone else? We must come to know God in all His forms, not just the ones that we want.

John 4:24 King James Version (KJV) God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Sound doctrine taught by men who know God, hear God and speak truth should bring new believers the healing required to get over being dead in their sins and become alive in Christ.

This is the will of the Father.

Sound Doctrine

Deuteronomy 32:2 King James Version (KJV) Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth. My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass:

The first doctrine came by men who listened to God and spoke the words they were given. The first five books of the bible are words given to Moses to record for our posterity. Other men dedicated to God became the voices where early believers received instruction, teaching, doctrine indirectly from God because Godly men had a personal relationship with God.

It was not until Christ came into the world and spoke to all mankind that the multitudes heard directly from God.

Hebrews 1:1-3a King James Version (KJV) God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power.

This is why the words of Jesus are so important. Those who place their faith in the atoning works of Christ can hear directly from God without the need for a prophet or a teacher or a pastor.

Given that the word in the bible is logos there is a connection between the written word and the revealed mind of God. He is speaking truth to us by the power of the Holy Spirit who is given to teach us all the things that Jesus has said.
