Times Change

Deuteronomy 13:4 You shall walk after the Lord your God and fear him and keep his commandments and obey his voice, and you shall serve him and hold fast to him.

At the time these words were recorded God only spoke face to face with Moses.

Numbers 12:2 And they said, “Has the Lord indeed spoken only through Moses? Has he not spoken through us also?” And the Lord heard it.

Aaron and Miriam spoke out against Moses because of the woman he took to wife. This displeased the Lord.

6 And he said, “Hear my words: If there is a prophet among you, I the Lord make myself known to him in a vision; I speak with him in a dream. 7 Not so with my servant Moses. He is faithful in all my house. 8 With him I speak mouth to mouth, clearly, and not in riddles, and he beholds the form of the Lord. Why then were you not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?” 9 And the anger of the Lord was kindled against them, and he departed. Numbers 12

God struck down Miriam with Leprosy but not Aaron. Aaron pleaded with Moses as a priest, Moses interceded with the Lord and Miriam was healed.

Aaron is a typos of the priesthood, Moses is a typos of Christ.

Now we are living in the times of the Lord’s Kingdom, a time of false prophets and false Christ. What is different is because of the work of the Cross we can by faith have access to God’s will directly via the Holy Spirit who is God in us.
