Darkness

John 3:19

And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil.

There is no judgment in darkness.

Who gets to say what is evil? It cannot be those who embrace darkness. It can only be He who is the true light.

John 1:4

In him was life, and the life was the light of men.

This is Christ Jesus, His very life is light.

Matthew 13:43

Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear.

2 Corinthians 4:6

For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 5:14

for anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore it says, “Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”

Philippians 2:15

that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,

Revelation 21:23

And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb.

Darkness is a life without Jesus Christ.

And darkness denies Him.

Read by Faith

Romans 1:17

For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”

How can we receive a Word from the Lord by faith without reading it by faith?

What value is there in reading a series of quoted scriptures that are given to any writer if we do not read those quotes with the same faith in which they are given?

They are revealed from faith for faith. They are not given to be analyzed, scrutinized, discussed, or even agreed upon without faith.

Romans 14:23 b

For whatever does not proceed from faith is sin.

That is a hard saying but just because it is hard does not change the truth.

Read it by faith and know it is true.

If you need context, read this.

Romans 1:3-6

English Standard Version

3 concerning his Son, who was descended from David according to the flesh 4 and was declared to be the Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness by his resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord, 5 through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith for the sake of his name among all the nations, 6 including you who are called to belong to Jesus Christ,

We are included because we placed our faith in Christ and access to the righteousness of God that reveals how to live by faith can only be found in Christ where we are included.

The world hates us because they believe we have set ourselves apart and above them, as being special in ways that we deny them. That is not true. God is the one that sets us apart.

Acts 26:18

to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’

Do they even know they live in darkness?
