Even my close friend in whom I trusted, who ate my bread, has lifted his heel against me.
I am not speaking of all of you; I know whom I have chosen. But the Scripture will be fulfilled, ‘He who ate my bread has lifted his heel against me.’
This is just one example of prophecy that was completed by Jesus Christ. So much of what was written by the prophets at God’s direction was meant to show us that Jesus of Nazareth is the Christ, the Anointed.
And he said to them, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken! Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer these things and enter into his glory?” And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself. Matt. 24
It was only after the life, death, resurrection and ascension that the Holy Spirit was sent to those who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ.
There is the prophetic, here is life in Christ.
We cannot make the journey from there to here without the Holy Spirit helping us putting all of it into context.
This journey is one of faith not intellect.
