Proverbs 6:16-19 English Standard Version
16 There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him:
17 haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
18 a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil,
19 a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.
Because we love the Lord then it seems right to avoid doing things He hates.
Proverbs 11:1 A false balance is an abomination to the Lord, but a just weight is his delight.
Perhaps a false balance falls under the title of a lie.
Israel has 613 laws to keep. It seems like avoiding those 7 in Proverbs 6 would be easier to keep than all 613.
That might be true but Jesus boils it all down to one commandment. Love one another.
