God’s Will

John 13:34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.

If we were to summarize all that is written in the bible, this one simple sentence would be that conclusion.

Here is the problem with doing just this one thing, to love as Jesus loves us.

Do you feel the love that Jesus has for you? It is impossible to express something we do not feel. It is one thing to say He died for our sins when we still keep committing them. Why haven’t we stopped sinning? Maybe because sin is no longer the point of contention.

Ephesians 2:14-16 English Standard Version

14 For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility 15 by abolishing the law of commandments expressed in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man in place of the two, so making peace, 16 and might reconcile us both to God in one body through the cross, thereby killing the hostility.

The only way to feel His love for us is to be at peace with Him because His sacrifice put an end to the hostility between mankind and God. In Christ we both are reconciled to God, we cannot obtain the peace we seek without Him.

Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

John 15:5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.

Colossians 3:3 For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

Romans 6:11 So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.

Do we live to sin or live to love?

2 Corinthians 5:18 All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation;

2 Corinthians 5:20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

As ambassadors, we do not speak for ourselves but for Christ who has sent us to love others.
