Do We

We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ, 2 Cor. 10:5

Do we do that?

If you believe you do then answer me this question: When was the last time you used the Word to shut down the opinion of someone who openly denies God even exists?

Would you know how to answer the enemies of Christ?

Proverbs 26:5 Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own eyes.

Recently an angry old man slapped a young Christian just because the young man agreed with the older man when he said “I don’t know much about economics.”

There is a biblical answer to every failed opinion.

Proverbs 20:17 Bread gained by deceit is sweet to a man, but afterward his mouth will be full of gravel.

The first thing we have to do is quiet the anger. His response might well be, “What does that have to do with economics?” Which could lead to verses that indicate how God requires fair trade practices when doing business.

Proverbs 15:1 A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

In order to use the Word effectively we must not only know the Word we must live by it.

James 1:22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
