Genesis 1:31 And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.

God is finished. He has done all that needs to be done.

Genesis 2:1-3 English Standard Version

Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God finished his work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work that he had done.  So God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it God rested from all his work that he had done in creation.

The phrase “all the host of them” is defined in Strong’s

צָבָא tsâbâʼ, tsaw-baw’; or (feminine) צְבָאָה tsᵉbâʼâh; from H6633; a mass of persons (or figuratively, things), especially reg. organized for war (an army); by implication, a campaign, literally or figuratively (specifically, hardship, worship):—appointed time, (+) army, (+) battle, company, host, service, soldiers, waiting upon, war(-fare).

This means the fight is over, God has won. God has done all that was required of Him to put an end to all hostilities.

This is a complex truth that people living in time have a difficult time understanding. In time we are still in the battle against a defeated foe. Our eternal God has already won. How can we accept this truth?

Luke 12:32 Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
Philippians 2:13 for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.
